As with other areas of artistic work, the literature of the Caribbean reflects
the wide diversity of cultures and concerns evident in Caribbean life and
the unique history of the region. Poets, novelists and playwrights have
enjoyed international recognition, particularly in the last few decades,
and the region boasts two Nobel Laureates in Literature (V.S. Naipaul and
Derek Walcott), several other major writers of worldwide repute, and a host
of talented young writers in all genres.
Items in our listings feature basic information for all viewers. We also
have additional information in the form of pictures, film clips, related
articles and other documents, which can be accessed in full by subscribers.
We have made a start with compiling information for our listings, and encourage
readers to contribute to our fund of knowledge by sending us more information
and materials.
